CESAR CHAVEZ PARK

17:00:00 –
18:45:00

Walk the marina green at Cesar Chavez Park with Della Dash and Rusty Scalf. Meet at the corner of Spinnaker Way and Marina Blvd, next to the large Cesar Chavez Park sign at the southeast corner of the marina green. Together we’ll walk the perimeter of the marina green looking for shorebirds (Bufflehead, Turnstone, Cormorants and Pelicans) rafting in the water, burrowing owls, raptors, sparrows, Meadowlarks, Pipits, finches and warblers in the grasses and shrubs around the park. Then we’ll head up (on an unpaved trail) to the top of the hill (sundial area) to watch the sunset.

Bring scopes and binoculars if you have them, and a water bottle. The total loop is 1.5 miles on both paved (level path) and unpaved (dirt trail up a small hill). Porta-potties are available on Spinnaker.

Leader: Della Dash, delladash@att.net and Rusty Scalf
